It’s a hot Saturday night in June, and there’s a dance party in northwest Baltimore… At the Ivy Center, men in long, ivory double-breasted coats and cream saddle shoes glide across the floor with women in white lace maxi-dresses and elbow-length white gloves. One man’s silver sequined vest glints under the florescent ceiling lights as he moves. Circular tables dot the room’s periphery, and a single star-shaped balloon hovers above each one. The decorations are sparse, but the partygoers aren’t here for the décor—they’re here to dance at the All White Affair."
